PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a soil water monitoring device intended for solving such problems that an alarm of a conventional device monitoring water in soil through measuring a resistance value between interelectrodes does not sound after the lapse of fixed days, that is to say, in spite of that soil is remarkably dry, the resistance value does not increase, and an alarm sounds again if leaving as it is for a considerable period (a few weeks), but as a result, plants wither during the period. SOLUTION: This soil water monitoring device detects with a soil water sensor that soil water becomes lower than a fixed level and performs a prescribed action with the detection. In a type of measuring resistance value between two interelectrodes with the soil water sensor, a soil resistance value measuring sensor part of the soil water sensor is regularly vibrated.
