PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope system capable of securely recognizing a state of connection between an endoscope and a video processor.SOLUTION: An endoscope 2 has an electric connector 12 comprising a connection detection electric terminal 12a and a connection detection protrusion 12b. A video processor 3 has a connection unit 30 to which the electric connector 12 is to be connected and which comprises a connection detection electric terminal 35a for electrically communicating with the connection detection electric terminal 12a to output a second detection signal and a photo interrupter 35b for detecting the connection detection protrusion 12b to output a first detection signal.
