To provide an electric work machine capable of making dust hardly enter a motor storage chamber and reducing frequencies of maintenance.SOLUTION: A chain saw 1 (electric work machine) includes: a body section 10 which is provided with a cutting section 20 (working tool)； a motor 30； and a battery 50. In the body section 10, a motor storage chamber 15, a battery storage chamber 16 opened in an outside face of the body section 10, and a communication passage 17 leading to the motor storage chamber 15 from the battery storage section 16 are formed. A first intake port 81 is formed between an inner edge section of the opening section of the battery storage chamber 16 and a side face of the battery 50 inserted into the battery storage chamber 16. An inflow port 17a of the communication passage 17 is opened on a side face in the battery storage chamber 16.
