PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article dissolving discomfort caused by wet of a wearer by quickly absorbing and diffusing an excretion liquid.SOLUTION: In this absorbent article 1, an absorber 4 includes an absorbent core 40 including an absorbent material. The absorbent core 40 has high basis weight parts 41 having a relatively large amount of the absorbent material and low basis weight parts 42 having a relatively small amount of the absorbent material, and the high basis weight parts 41 and the low basis weight parts 42 are alternately formed both in the long direction X and in the width direction Y of the absorbent article 1. The absorbent article 1 is formed with a groove 7 where a front face sheet 2 and the absorbent core 40 are integrally recessed. The groove 7 is formed extendedly to at least two high basis weight parts 41, 41 arranged side by side in the long direction X or the width direction Y and one low basis weight part 42 sandwiched by the two high basis weight parts 41, 41.
