The present invention pertains to a model and method for providing a visualdemonstration ofbacteria removal on a simulated tongue material. The model comprises asimulated tongue substratecomprising a base and a plurality of projections that simulate the papillae ofa human tongue, a filmcomprising one or more bacteria simulating components an agitation device, anda recording device. Themethod comprises applying a film to the surface of the simulated tonguesubstrate, exposing the simulatedtongue substrate to a liquid, and agitating the simulated tongue substrate andthe liquid to at least partiallyremove the film, wherein a liquid-film mixture is formed, and recording theapplication and removal ofthe film from the surface of the simulated tongue substrate.
