A rear surface of the horizontal body portion isconfigured to closelymate with a front-facing bone structure of an alveolar arch of a patient. Thesecond guideincludes a body and a coupling member. The body defines a passageway that isconfigured toreceive a bone reducing instrument. The coupling member is configured to matewith thehorizontal body portion of the first guide. The body and the coupling memberare configured toposition the passageway along a second horizontal plane that is parallel withthe first horizontalplane. The coupling member is configured to enable the second guide torelative to the firstguide along the second horizontal plane and thereby guide the bone reducinginstrument alongthe second horizontal plane.
