This composition comprises a polyethylene glycol-albumin composition having at least one protected thiol region wherein the composition comprises PEG-AlbCys34 with Cys-34 preserved as a thiol. The albumin is linked to medications such as, antioxidants with a reduced sulfhydryl group through the Cys 34 residing on the albumin.
