According to the present invention, disclosed is an independent walking guidance device for a visually impaired person, which is worn on the visually impaired person′s body to guide the visually impaired person through a moving path to a destination with voice, so as to enable independent walking. The independent walking guidance device for a visually impaired person comprises: a walking environment information acquisition module (100) including camera units (111, 112) capturing front images in a walking direction to obtain walking images, GPS receiving units (121, 122) receiving GPS signals for the current location of the visually impaired person, and inertia sensor units (131, 132) sensing the walking movements of the visually impaired person； and a walking environment information processing module (200) connected to the walking environment information acquisition module (100) to receive walking environment information including the walking images, the GPS signals, and the sensing signals, and providing voice guidance information for a moving path to a requested destination while detecting the current location and a moving state of the visually impaired person, and landmarks positioned in the front by using map data including the locations of preset landmarks and the received walking environment information.본 발명에 따르면, 시각장애인의 신체에 착용되어 독립보행이 가능하도록 목적지까지의 이동경로를 음성안내하는 시각장애인용 독립보행 안내장치에 있어서, 보행방향의 전방이미지를 촬영하여 보행영상을 획득하는 카메라부(111,112)와, 시각장애인의 현재위치에 대한 GPS신호를 수신하는 GPS수신부(121,122) 및, 시각장애인의 보행움직임을 감지하는 관성센서부(131,132)를 포함하는 보행환경정보 획득모듈(100)； 및 상기 보행환경정보 획득모듈(100)과 신호연결되어 상기 보행영상, GPS신호 및 감지신호를 포함하는 보행환경정보를 수신하고, 기설정된 랜드마크의 위치가 포함된 맵데이터와 수신된 보행환경정보를 이용하여 시각장애인의 현재위치, 이동상태 및 전방에 위치한 랜드마크를 인식하면서 요청된 목적지까지의 이동경로에 대한 음성안내정보를 제공하는 보행환경정보 처리모듈(200)；을 포함하는 시각장애인용 독립보행 안내장치가 개시된다.
