According to the present invention, for an independent walking guide device for the visually impaired, which is worn by a person who is visually impaired and voice guides a traveling path to the destination to enable an independent walking, the device comprises: a walking environment information obtaining module (100) comprising a camera unit (111, 112) which captures a front image of a walking direction and obtains a walking image, a GPS receiving unit (121, 122) which receives GPS signals for a current location of the visually impaired, and an inertial sensor unit (131, 132) which senses walking motions of the visually impaired; and a walking environment information processing module (200) signal-connected to the walking environment information obtaining module (100) to receive walking environment information including the walking image, the GPS signals and sensing signals, using map data containing locations of pre-set landmarks and received walking environment information to recognize a current location, a traveling state of the visually impaired and landmarks located in the front, and providing voice guidance information for a traveling path to a required destination.
