The present invention relates to novel isolated bacterial strains of the Dolosigranulum pigrum species and variants thereof having at least 99% sequence identity in its 16S rRNA gene to said novel strains. The present invention further relates to the use of these bacterial strains, and compositions comprising said strains for use as a probiotic, such as for improving or restoring the flora/microbiota of the respiratory tract and skin.
