An electrode lead winding system 1, adapted for use with one or more defibrillator electrodes each having at least one electrode lead, comprises a spool 3 having a shaft 9 with a flange 11 attached to a first end thereof, protruding radially beyond the shaft, and a hollow, substantially cylindrical element 5, open at at least a first end for location of the spool therein and located axially around the spool. The cylindrical element has a width such that a radial outer edge of the spool flange at least partially abuts an inner surface of the cylindrical element when the spool is located therein. The spool is axially rotatable within the cylindrical element for winding and/or unwinding of the/each electrode lead onto and/or from the spool. The system may take the form of a plug-in module for an electrode storage case (40, Fig 3) and may have a clip mechanism for engagement with the said storage case. The invention further provides a trainer defibrillator comprising one or more electrodes, each having at least one electrode lead, and the said electrode lead winding system, and a trainer defibrillator electrode storage case comprising one or more electrodes, each having at least one electrode lead and at least one electrode pad, and the said electrode winding system.
