PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preventing infection with pathogens that can simply and effectively suppress invasion of viruses into a breeding ground of domestic animals or a farm of fishes and shellfishes and the spread of infection with viruses, exerts little influence on domestic animals, fishes and shellfishes, and human bodies and can assure environmental preservation.
SOLUTION: The method for preventing infection with pathogens comprises using a photocatalytic material comprising at least an adsorptive photocatalyst. In a preferred embodiment, the photocatalyst is photocatalytic apatite. In other preferred embodiments, the photocatalytic material is added to fodder of domestic animals, dispersed in drinking water, added to baits of fishes and shellfishes, dispersed in rearing water, applied to the inside and the outside of facilities.
