An applicator (100) of surgical fasteners, comprising: a housing (104); at least one handle (106) pivotally connected to the housing (104); an outer support channel (108) extending distally from the housing (104); a drive channel (140) slidably disposed within the outer support channel (108), the drive channel (140) in mechanical communication with the at least one handle (106); a set of jaws (150) that includes a first and second pair of jaws (152, 153) extending from one end of the outer support channel (108), the first and second pair of jaws (152, 153) include a decreasing part (156) and arranged in a parallel configuration, each of the first and second pair of jaws (152, 153) configured to receive a respective fastener (160) therein, where according to the at least a handle (106) is pivoted with respect to the housing, the distal end of the drive channel (140) advances distally and acts as a cam in the decreasing part (156) of the first and second pair of jaws (152, 153), causing the jaws (152, 153) to move from an open position to an approach position, making the formation of each fastener received therein, where at least one jaw member (152a, 152b) of each of the pair of jaws (152, 153) includes an extr curved distal emo, the curved distal end extends toward the opposite of the at least one jaw member (152a, 152b), the curved distal end configured to retain tissue therein; and a cutting mechanism (170) disposed within a defined clearance between the first and second pair of jaws (152, 153), the cutting mechanism (170) extends from one end of the outer support channel (108) and which includes a pair of elongate members (170a) that can move relatively together, where the cutting mechanism (170) can operate independently of at least one handle (106), the fastener applicator further includes a shuttle (174) arranged slidingly within the outer support channel (108), the shuttle (174) is in mechanical cooperation with the cutting mechanism (170), wherein the pair o
