The invention relates to a filling aid for filling a cartridge (7) with a medical or pharmaceutical liquid the filling aid having in a common housing (4): a first receiving section (24) designed to receive the cartridge (7) that should be filled and a second receiving section (26) designed to receive a receptacle (18) that contains a medical or pharmaceutical substance. A first access opening (28) is formed in the first receiving section (24) said opening being arranged such that it lies opposite an opening of a cartridge (7) when the latter is inserted into the first receiving section (24) and a second access opening (30) is formed in the second receiving section (26) said second access opening being arranged such that it lies opposite an opening of a receptacle (18) when the latter is inserted into the second receiving section (26). The invention also relates to a method for filling a cartridge using this filling aid.
