A computer-implemented method for analyzing aphysiological signal includes selecting a first timeinterval containing a pattern of interest in a recordingof the physiological signal. Respective values of acharacteristic of the physiological signal are computedin a plurality of time segments within the first timeinterval. The computed values are concatenated to form asignature of the pattern of interest. A furtheroccurrence of the pattern of interest is identified inthe physiological signal during a second time interval bymatching the signal in the second time interval to thesignature.
