PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an MRI apparatus in which a shim device is cooled without affecting the coil pattern of a gradient magnetic field coil and without using excessively large equipment, then, uniformity in a magnetostatic field in imaging can be stabilized.
SOLUTION: A cooling pipe 13 is helically embedded in the gradient magnetic field coil 2 along the cylindrical shape of the gradient magnetic field coil 2. The cooling pipe 13 is brought into contact with the main coil 6 and shield coil 7 of the gradient magnetic field coil 2. A shim tray 9 is brought into contact with a part of the cooling pipe 13 and cooled with a refrigerant flowing in the passage 14 of the cooling pipe 13. Consequently, temperature rise in a shim iron piece 11 attached to the shim tray 9 is suppressed without using the excessively large equipment.
