PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an anti-thrombogenic material for a medical appliance having low friction properties markedly reducing the damage of a blood vessel.
SOLUTION: A gel material for the medical appliance used under the contact environment with the blood vessel is synthesized from N,N-dimethylacrylamide by a crosslinking agent having at least two ethylenic unsaturated bonds. Preferably the crosslinking agent is methylenebisacrylamide, and the ratio of the crosslinking agent to N,N-dimethylacrylamide at the time of synthesis of the gel material is preferably 1-10 mol%.
