A walking aid chair, wherein a raising/lowering seat surface can move between a first position disposed so as to form a portion of a seat surface of a wheelchair, and a second position further away from the ground surface than the first position. In the present invention, a retracting seat surface can move between a third position which is adjacent to the raising/lowering seat surface disposed in the first position and is disposed so as to form a portion of the seat surface of the wheelchair, and a fourth position disposed so as to be separated from the raising/lowering seat surface disposed in the second position. In a first embodiment, the walking aid chair functions as a wheelchair in which a user can sit on a seat surface. In a second embodiment, the walking aid chair functions as a walking aid whereby a standing user can be supported by the raising/lowering seat surface.
