摘要:
The present invention describes an easy method for producing polymer films able to absorb ultraviolet radiation and emit visible blue and green light. The method consists in grafting a functional group into a commercial plastic film and then introducing small amounts of fluorescent chromophores for providing the film with the aforementioned optic properties. Natural chromophores are used, these being obtained by an easy isolation method from the Mexican medicinal plant palo azul ((Eysenhardtia polystachya), which removes the organic synthesis and the use of toxic materials. These chromophores present a high absorption and fluorescence efficiency, compared to synthetic chromophores such as pyrene, perylene and porphyrin. Each Kg of shrub stalks may produce approximately 3.2 g of green chromophore and 1.2 g of blue chromophore. The percentage of chromophore in each modified film is of approximately 5% by weight. The films produced with these chromophores have the characteristic of being used as UV radiation filters in packings of sensitive materials, fluorescent plastics in optical application of colorful panels protected against UV-radiation, films emitting blue and green light which may be used as signaling elements, fluorescent probes for marking molecules and macromolecules, optical components of materials with opto-electronic properties and components in the manufacture of Leds, due to the harmless characteristic thereof it may be used in the medical, food and cosmetic industry, in the cosmetic industry being used as a component in lotions or creams for protecting the skin from UV light.La presente invención describe un método sencillo para producir películas de polímeros que sean capaces de absorber radiación ultravioleta y emitir luz visible azul y verde.
