An intraocular lens system, comprising: a first lens having a size and shape for implantation in the posterior chamber of the eye, wherein the first lens has an optical element of positive optical power having a first optical axis and a second lens having a size and shape for implantation in the posterior chamber of the eye and configured to engage the first lens, the second lens has a front surface and an opposite back surface, wherein the central portion of the second lens defines a surface optical element of negative optical power having a second optical axis, the peripheral portion of the front surface of the optical element defines a surface of positive optical power, wherein the first optical axis and WTO paradise optical axis are offset from each other when the first and second lenses are zatseplenii.2.
