PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide methods for the reduction, prevention or treatment of cardiovascular events and/or cardiovascular diseases, including acute cardiovascular disease or chronic cardiovascular disease.SOLUTION: The present invention provides methods comprising administering an effective amount of an anti-IL-l&bgr； binding antibody or binding fragment thereof to the subject with a history of a risk factor for cardiovascular disease, which is myocardial infarction, stroke, cardiovascular death, congestive heart failure, cardiac arrest, acute coronary syndrome, angina, or a revascularization procedure. It can be used also for the patient with a history of a risk factor, such as manifest coronary heart disease, coronary artery disease, thrombosis, transient ischaemic attack, left ventricular hypertrophy, arteriosclerosis, restenosis, tobacco smoking or peripheral vascular disease.【課題】急性心血管疾患または慢性心血管疾患を含む、心血管事象及び/又は心血管疾患の低減、予防又は処置のための方法を提供。【解決手段】心筋梗塞、脳卒中、心血管死、うっ血性心不全、心停止、急性冠動脈症候群、狭心症または血行再建術である心血管疾患リスク因子の既往を有する対象に、有効量の抗IL-1β結合抗体又はその結合断片を該対象に投与する。更に、顕性冠動脈心疾患、冠動脈疾患、血栓症、一過性脳虚血発作、左室肥大、動脈硬化症、再狭窄、喫煙または末梢血管疾患等のリスク因子既往の患者にも使用できる。【選択図】なし
