PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: metal oxide-zinc oxide solid solution particles controllable of a particle size and a form by a simple, inexpensive and environment-friendly method and coated spherical powder formed by coating, with a hydrophobic compound, the surface of spherical powder obtained by aggregating the metal oxide-zinc oxide solid solution particles, and to provide a cosmetic having an excellent feeling of use by formulating the coated spherical powder.SOLUTION: This invention relates to: spherical powder which is produced by mixing a water-soluble zinc compound, glycol, an amine compound, and one or two or more kinds of metal salts having a charge of ≤+4, by performing a soft solution reaction at 50°C-100°C, and by accumulating metal oxide-zinc oxide solid solution particles with a primary particle size of 2-200 nm and which has a spherical form with the size of 10-5,000 nm or to coated spherical powder which is formed by using spherical powder obtained by firing the spherical powder at 300°C-1,500°C, and by coating the surface of the spherical powder with one or two or more kinds of compounds selected from polysiloxane, an alkyl alkoxysilane compound, an alkyl titanate compound and a fluorine compound. A cosmetic formed by formulating the coated spherical powder is also provided.COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT【課題】環境に優しく、簡便で低コストな方法にて、粒子径および形態の制御が可能な金属酸化物・酸化亜鉛固溶体粒子と、この金属酸化物・酸化亜鉛固溶体粒子が集積された球状粉体に疎水性の化合物を表面被覆してなる被覆球状粉体を提供し、この被覆球状粉体を配合することによって、使用感の優れた化粧料を提供する。【解決手段】水溶性亜鉛化合物とグリコールとアミン化合物および一種または二種以上の電荷が+4以下の金属塩を混合し、50℃~100℃でソフト溶液反応を行うことにより製造され、一次粒子が2~200nmの金属酸化物・酸化亜鉛固溶体粒子が集積し、10~5000nmの球状を形成している球状粉体、又は、該球状粉体を300℃~1500℃で焼成した球状粉体を用いて、その球状粉体の表面に、ポリシロキサン、アルキルアルコキシシラン化合物、アルキルチタネート化合物及びフッ素化合物から選ばれる1種又は2種以上の化合物で被覆処理して被覆球状粉体を得る。また、この被覆球状粉体を化粧料に配合する。【選択図】なし
