The invention relates to a method and a kit for providing brown colour to keratinous fibres particularly for reducing the blueness. The method comprising the steps of contacting the keratinous fibers with a complex of a copper salt with gallic acid or an alkyl ester of gallic acid or a mixture thereof； followed by rinsing the fibers to be substantially free of the complex； followed by contacting the hair with an iron salt.L'invention porte sur un procédé et une trousse permettant de conférer de la couleur brune à des fibres kératiniques en particulier pour la réduction de la coloration bleue. Le procédé comprend les étapes de mise en contact des fibres kératiniques avec un complexe d'un sel de cuivre avec de l'acide gallique ou un ester alkylique de l'acide gallique ou un mélange de ceux-ci ； suivie du rinçage des fibres pour qu'elles soient pratiquement exemptes du complexe ； suivi de la mise en contact des cheveux avec un sel de fer.
