A method of making a composite living fiber is described that includes the steps of contacting a fiber strand with an aqueous solution comprising cells, alginate, and a non-alginate hydrogel precursor to coat the fiber crosslinking the alginate of the coated fiber and crosslinking the non-alginate hydrogel precursor to form a composite living fiber. Composite living fibers made by this method, and tissue scaffolds made of composite living fibers, are also described.La présente invention concerne un procédé de fabrication dune fibre vivante composite comprenant les étapes consistant à mettre en contact un brin de fibre avec une solution aqueuse comprenant des cellules, de lalginate et un précurseur dhydrogel non-alginate pour enrober la fibre à réticuler lalginate de la fibre enrobée et à réticuler le précurseur dhydrogel non-alginate pour former une fibre vivante composite. La présente invention concerne des fibres vivantes composites fabriquées selon ce procédé, et des matrices tissulaires constituées de fibres vivantes composites.
