Information about time is received in medical device in response to transmitted enquiry. One or more data elements, stored in medical device memory, are updated on the basis of received information about time. Preliminarily determined value of resistance, corresponding to expiry date of indicator strap, made with possibility of analyte level measurement, is measured by means of processor. Preliminarily specified value of resistance, which was measured, is compared with value of resistance stored in medical device memory by means of processor. Stored value of resistance corresponds to preliminarily specified expiry date. Preliminarily specified expiry date of indicator strip is determined by means of processor.
