The present invention provides a method and a system for detecting a region of interest through normalization of medical image signal intensity. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the method for detecting a region of interest includes the steps of: calculating signal intensities of pixels constituting a medical image normalizing the intensities by using statistic data of the medical image and detecting the region of interest in the medical image by using the normalized signal intensity. Therefore, qualitative analysis and approach on lesions, blood vessel structures and so on can be performed in easy and objective manners.COPYRIGHT KIPO 2015의료 영상 신호 세기 정규화를 통한 관심 부위 검출 방법 및 시스템이 제공된다. 본 발명의 실시예에 따른 관심 부위 검출 방법은, 의료 영상을 구성하는 픽셀들의 신호 세기들을 산출하고, 의료 영상의 신호 세기 통계치를 이용하여 신호 세기들을 정규화하며, 정규화된 신호 세기들을 이용하여 의료 영상에서 관심 부위를 검출한다. 이에 의해, 병변이나 혈관 구조 등에 대한 정량적 분석과 접근이 용이하고 객관적으로 가능해진다.
