The present inventors provides one or more of a tiacumicin compound, a stereo-isomer thereof, a polymorph thereof or a pharmaceutically acceptable solvate thereof for use in the oral treatment of Clostridium difficile infections (CDI) or Clostridium difficile-associated disease (CDAD) in a patient according to a dosage regimen comprising: (1) administering to the patient in an initial course of treatment 200 mg of the tiacumicin compound twice a day； (2) monitoring the efficacy of the initial course of treatment in the patient by means of monitoring changes of one or more indicators of CDI or CDAD； (3) assessing whether there is a positive change of the one or the more of the indicators； and (4) switching to an intermittent course of treatment by administering to the patient 200 mg of the tiacumicin compound every other day if the one or the more of the indicators of CDI or CDAD are positively changed. Further the invention provides the use of the tiacumicin compound to reduce recurrence in a patient suffering from CDI or CDAD.La présente invention concerne un ou plusieurs parmi un composé de tiacumicine, un stéréo-isomère de celui-ci, un polymorphe de celui-ci ou un solvate pharmaceutiquement acceptable de celui-ci pour une utilisation dans le traitement par voie orale d'infections à Clostridium difficile (CDI) ou d'une maladie associée à Clostridium difficile (MACD) chez un patient selon un régime posologique consistant à : (1) administrer au patient, dans le cadre d'un traitement initial, 200 mg du composé de tiacumicine deux fois par jour ； (2) suivre l'efficacité du traitement initial chez le patient en surveillant des changements d'un ou plusieurs indicateurs de CDI ou MACD ； (3) évaluer si l'un ou plusieurs des indicateurs présentent un changement positif ； et (4) passer à un traitement intermittent en administrant au patient 200 mg du composé de tiacumicine tous les deux jours, si ledit ou lesdits indicateurs de CDI ou MACD présentent un changement positif.
