At least one of the following, extracted from components contained in the urine of a female mouse in which estrus was induced by the administration of estrogen after an ovariectomy, is used: 2-ethylhexanol, undecane, and 2,3-butanediol diacetate. Applying these components to a female mouse increases pursuit behavior by male mice. Since no increases in pursuit behavior are seen in male mice from which the vomeronasal organ has been removed, the abovementioned components are pheromone-like substances that induce mating by way of the vomeronasal organ. These components are useful as mating inducers.Au moins l'un de ce qui suit, extrait de composants contenus dans l'urine d'une souris femelle dans laquelle l'œstrus a été induit par l'administration d'œstrogène après une ovariectomie, est utilisé : 2-éthylhexanol, undécane et diacétate de 2,3-butanediol. L'application de ces composants à une souris femelle augmente le comportement de poursuite par la souris mâle. Etant donné que des augmentations dans le comportement de poursuite ne sont pas observées dans les souris mâles à partir desquelles l'organe voméronasal a été retiré, les composants mentionnés ci-dessus sont des substances de type phéromone qui induisent l'accouplement au moyen de l'organe voméronasal.
