A suturing apparatus containing a housing (1) on the distal end thereof, two working jaws (2 and 4), one of which is stationary and the other movable fastening elements and means for controlling the relative position of the working jaws (2, 4) and the pushing of the fastening elements through tissue to be sutured. Each of the fastening elements contains a suturing part, which is a tube (16) having a widening on the proximal end thereof and a sharpened rigid rod (18) positioned in the channel of the tube (16), and a mating securing part, adapted for securing the end of a tube (16) at any required level after removal of the rigid rod (18). The suturing parts of the fastening elements are installed in the movable jaw (4), which is provided with a pusher (7), said pusher being connected via a rod (14) to a handle (9) in the proximal portion of the housing, and interacting with the heads of the rods (18), with the ability to push same through to the stationary jaw (2) when piercing tissue and with the ability to remove same from the tubes (16) following suturing. The mating securing parts of the fastening elements are installed in the stationary jaw (2).
