A device configured for performing a spatial scan of a patients breast. The device comprises a substantially hollow housing having a substantially conical surface between a top and a substantially hollow base. The substantially hollow housing is sized and shaped for covering at least a portion of a breast. The device further comprises a scanning device for performing a scan while being maneuvered in a scanning pattern adjacent to the substantially conical surface. The distance between the top and the substantially hollow base is less than 5 centimeters.
