PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical scope which is suitable for preventing the distal end portion from having a large diameter caused by a protecting resin.
SOLUTION: The medical scope is equipped with a bending portion which bends in accordance with operation by a user and a distal end portion, which is connected to the bending portion and accommodates a prescribed optical system for observing a subject in the inside part of a roughly cylindrical body case, and is configured to cover the entire circumference of the body case with the distal end of the sheath member of the bending portion. An opening part is formed in at least a part of the side surface of the body case. The distal end of the sheath member is applied to the entire circumference of the body case to cover the opening part. The entire circumference of the distal end of the sheath member including a part covering the opening part is tightly tied by a string-like member and is fixed to the body case. The medical scope having the protecting resin which protects the string-like member and is applied to cover the entire string-like member is provided.
