PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for adjusting a magnetic field of superconducting magnet which can expand the range of correcting magnetic homogeneity by adopting a magnetic shim mechanism with a high degree of freedom of magnetic shim disposition.
SOLUTION: In the device for adjusting a magnetic field of superconducting magnet which arranges magnetic shim mechanism 28 in the axial direction of the inner circumference of a cylindrical superconducting magnet 21, the magnetic shim mechanism includes two or more kinds of shim trays 64a-64c having two or more shim pockets 15 having different lengthwise positions which hold magnetic shims 101, and the shim pocket holds a magnetic shim for magnetic field adjustment in the shim pocket.
