Described is a probiotic carrier for bees intended for oral use by bees. The carrier includes bee pollen. There is an autochthonous lactobacilli strain isolated from the digestive tract of healthy bees. The lactobacilli strain is preferably Lactobacillus brevis, for example Lactobacillus brevis B50, deposited in the collection of microorganisms under the number CCM 8618. The described carrier is used to inhibit bee pathogens including Paenibacillus larvae as well as to increase the colony's defense in stress situations and/or to increase the colony condition in the laying period.
