PURPOSE: A composition containing a Polygala tenuifolia extract, a Discoreaceae extract, or a mixture thereof for preventing and treating cardiovascular diseases is provided to reduce neutral fat in blood, and to prevent cardiovascular diseases such as hypertriglyceridemia, myocardial infarction, and arteriosclerosis.CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating cardiovascular diseases contains a Polygala tenuifolia extract, a Discoreaceae extract, or a mixture thereof as an active ingredient.
