A device and method for enhancing nicotine salt aerosol delivery is disclosed. The device comprises of three compartments, namely A, B and C wherein compartment A contains nicotine and pyruvic acid while compartments B and C contain nicotine and filtering material, respectively. Compartment A can be detached from compartments B and C when not in use. When the user initiates the puff, cartridge from compartment A can be removed and fit in to second portion of the device (i.e., compartments B and C) and continues the puff.
