Protective eyewear (1) for protection of an operators eyes (5) against radiation, in particular laser radiation, comprising:- a head-mounted support (2)- a camera (12) for generating a video signal of a surrounding of the operator- a processing unit (27) for processing the video signal received from the camera (12)- a display unit (9) for displaying the video signal, the display unit (9) being adapted to be arranged in front of the operators eyes (5), wherein- the video camera (12) is a light-field camera.
