The invention relates to the field of drinking water treatment and can be used in public utilities, the food industry and medicine. The proposed artificially mineralized drinking water contains at least one each of a water-soluble compound of magnesium and a water-soluble compound of zinc, the concentrations of which in terms of magnesium and zinc are 5-65 mg/l and 1-5 mg/l respectively. The compounds of magnesium and zinc are preferably selected from chlorides and/or sulphates. The water may additionally contain water-soluble compounds of calcium, preferably calcium chloride, compounds of fluorine (0.1-1.5 mg/l fluorine concentration) and/or selenium (2-9 mg/l selenium concentration) and/or iodine (10-125 mkg/l iodine concentration), and also compounds of sodium and/or potassium, preferably hydrogen carbonates and/or chlorides and/or sulphates thereof. The mass ratio of magnesium to zinc is 1 : 0.02-1.The composition may additionally contain compounds of calcium and potassium and other ingredients necessary for the preparation of drinking water. The resulting artificially mineralized drinking water can be used in the preparation of beverages and other foodstuffs. The result of using the invention, i.e. using drinking water enriched with magnesium and zinc ions, is that the water produced according to the invention has a vitalizing effect on the human body.
