PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus and a particle beam therapeutic apparatus that contribute to highly accurately irradiate, even when a position of a target such as tumor periodically changes due to for example aspiration of a human body, the periodically reciprocating target highly accurately compared to traditional apparatuses.SOLUTION: A position of a high-density substance discriminable on a two-dimensional transparent image is detected from a soft tissue on a transparent X-ray image obtained by a transparent X-ray radiography control device 57, and a displacement of the high-density substance from a treatment plan position is detected from positional information of the high-density substance in a CT image of a treatment planning device 53. A particle beam passage area with the high-density substance in a displaced state is reset in a previously prepared treatment plan CT image. A water equivalent thickness variation of the reset particle beam passage area is calculated, and only if a value of the calculation is within a preset variation amount, permission determination for particle beam irradiation is outputted.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5COPYRIGHT: (C)2016,JPO&INPIT【課題】人体の呼吸等により腫瘍等の標的の位置が周期的に変化する場合にも、この周期的に往復移動を行う標的に対して従来に比べてより高精度に粒子線を照射することに寄与する画像処理装置および粒子線治療装置を提供する。【解決手段】透視X線撮影制御装置57で得られた透視X線画像上の軟組織から2次元透視画像上で区別可能な高密度物質の位置と治療計画装置53のCT画像の前記高密度物質の位置情報から前記高密度物質の治療計画位置からのズレを検出し、予め準備された治療計画用CT画像でズレた状態での粒子線通過領域を再び設定する。そして再設定した粒子線通過領域の水等価厚変化を計算し、予め設定した変化量以内の場合に限り粒子線の照射許可判定を出力する。【選択図】 図5
