PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a planting method for improving efficiency of raising seedling/planting work of emerging plants including ditch reed and improving percentage of rootage to a plantation area, and to provide a planting container to be used for the method. SOLUTION: This planting method comprises setting a seedling holding part 13 made of impassable holes on the top of a plantation mat 10 obtained by entangling biodegradable fibers, and inserting a biodegradable raising seedling pot 20 in which a ditch reed seedling 30 is planted into the seedling holding part 13. After performing preliminary raising seedling for one year, the ditch reed 30 together with the raising seedling pot 20 and the plantation mat 10 is delivered and set on a plantation area 40.
