The present invention relates to a wearable device for identity authentication using multi-biometrics and a method thereof, and more specifically, to a wearable device for identity authentication using multi-biometrics which performs the identity authentication by recognizing an electrocardiogram (ECG) signal and a fingerprint and enables the immediate re-authentication by checking the release state of the wearable device. According to the present invention, the wearable device for identity authentication comprises: a main body (100) including a communication module (110) which transmits and receives data, an input/output device (120), and a computing device (130)； a band unit (200) including a strap (210) which is connected to the main body (100) and enables a user to wear the wearable device on the user′s wrist； a biometrics unit (300) including a first recognition member (311) which comes in contact with the user′s wrist and a second recognition member (312) which comes in contact with the user′s finger and recognizing the ECG signal and fingerprint of the user by accessing the main body (100)； and a release detection unit (400) configured to detect the release of the wearable device from the user′s wrist by accessing the main body (100). According to the present invention, the wearable device for identity authentication can perform the identity authentication more precisely and conveniently.
