PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for applying to mucous membranes, which improves the wettability of corneal surfaces and contact lens surfaces.SOLUTION: This composition for applying to the mucous membranes is characterized by containing sodium carboxymethylcellulose and a terpenoid. The composition improves the wettability of corneal surfaces and contact lens surfaces. Thereby, the wettability is maintained, and the touch feeling of the contact lenses are improved.
