PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device for an endoscope capable of reducing a decrease in an amount of incident light on an endoscope when a light guide rod of the endoscope to be connected is small in diameter.SOLUTION: A light source device for an endoscope includes a light source part having a green light source, a blue light source, a red light source, and a condensation optical system, and an endoscope connection part to which an endoscope having a light guide rod is connected. The green light source includes a first emission surface 60c in which four green LED chips 60a are arranged in a two-dimensional array. Two green LED chips 60a are arranged in each row direction and in each column direction, and emit green light. The condensation optical system causes an optical axis Lc to coincide with the center of a light incident surface 32a of the light guide rod of the endoscope connected to the endoscope connection part, and condenses the illumination light including the green light on a region including the light incident surface 32a.
