An animal toilet can be used in both closed and opened states and, in the opened state, can compactly receive a movable hood. The animal toilet (1) has a waste elimination container (2) and a hood (3). The hood (3) has a fixed hood (31) placed on the rear side of the waste elimination container (2), the movable hood (32) placed on the front side of the waste elimination container, and a pair of connection sections (33, 33) for pivotally fixing the movable hood (32). The movable hood (32) has in its front face an opening (331) for interconnecting the inner space of the animal toilet (1) and the space outside it. To change the movable hood (32) from the closed state to the opened state, the movable hood (32) is pivoted while being positioned outside the fixed hood (31). When the movable hood (32) is in the opened state, the movable hood (32) is placed so as to cover the outer side of the fixed hood (31).
