PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide cleaning compositions and cleaning methods for dental devices effectively removing and cleaning stains and adhered odor from the oral cavity on the device caused by oral microbial flora.SOLUTION: Provided is an effervescent dissolvable solid composition comprising (i) an acid source and a soluble carbonate salt and (ii) a basic amino acid in free or salt form. The basic amino acid is preferable to be L-arginine bicarbonate the acid source is preferable to be citric acid, malic acid, tartaric acid, adipic acid, succinic or fumaric acid and the soluble carbonate is preferable to be sodium bicarbonate, potassium bicarbonate, arginine bicarbonate, sodium carbonate, or potassium carbonate respectively.
