PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a food product washing device capable of reliably washing even a food product with small specific gravity by pressing it in water by a pressing plate, and maintaining a state that the food product is aligned even after washing, and a food product washing method.SOLUTION: A food product washing device provided with a water bath (1) for accommodating washing water, an accommodation part (2) for accommodating a food product to be washed, and water flow generation means (3) and (4) for generating a water flow in the water bath includes a lifting device (5) for moving the accommodation part (2) into or out of the water bath, and food product pressing means (6) and (7) for preventing the food product accommodated in the accommodation part (2) from floating. The lifting device (5) includes a mounting part (22) for mounting the accommodation part (2), and the accommodation part (2) can be freely attached to and detached from the mounting part (22).
