PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external preparation, which is excellent in suppression of itching and suppression of corrosion of a packaging material, and imparts a refreshing sensation.SOLUTION: According to the present invention, an external preparation comprises: an external composition including (A) 0.5-5 w/v% of at least one of a hydrochloride salt of antihistamine and a hydrochloride salt of local anesthetic, (B) 3-30 w/v% of ethanol, (C) at least one of borax and boric acid, and (D) any one of organic acid and organic base； a base； and a packaging material made of a laminated film having at least an aluminum layer. Here, any one of the organic acid and the organic base of the component (D) is at least one selected from citric acid hydrate, malonic acid, succinic acid, malic acid, tartaric acid, sodium citrate hydrate, and disodium succinate hydrate.
