PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attempt the utilization of camellia strained lees having been treated as a kind of industrial wastes.
SOLUTION: A camellia ceramide is extracted by repeating several times the step of washing the camellia strained lees with a lipophilic solvent followed by subjecting the resultant filtration solids to extraction with a polar organic solvent.
