PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel hair-loss preventing agent, which is different from the conventional approach.SOLUTION: According to the present invention, a hair-loss preventing agent comprises: a collagen enhancer for enhancing fibrous collagen in the scalp dermis layer and/or a component that suppresses the degradation of fibrous collagen in the scalp dermis. The "collagen enhancer for enhancing fibrous collagen in the scalp dermis layer" comprises lyotropic liquid crystals and has a cubic liquid crystal structure, as well as comprises, as a nonionic surfactant, polyoxyethylene octyldodecyl ether, further comprises glycerin, and still further comprises squalane. The hair-loss preventing agent prevents hair-loss caused by alopecia selected from androgenic alopecia (AGA), juvenile alopecia, senile alopecia, alopecia areata, and alopecia caused by anti-cancer drug administration. The "component that inhibits degradation of fibrillar collagen in the scalp dermis" is preferably a matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) inhibitor.
