<；P>；PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a porous carbon material having excellent characteristics and an adsorbent, a filler, a mask, an adsorbing sheet and a carrier each of which is based on the porous carbon material. <；P>；SOLUTION: The porous carbon material is obtained by using a plant-derived material including silicon as a raw material and has &ge；10 m<；SP>；2<；/SP>；/g specific surface area when measured by a nitrogen BET method, and &ge；2.2 cm<；SP>；3<；/SP>；/g pore volume when measured by a mercury porosimetry.
