A belt-shaped body includes: a torso-facing surface that faces the torso of the animal when the belt-shaped body is worn； a non-torso-facing surface on an opposite side from the torso-facing surface； a first region extending between one side edge in a lengthwise direction and a center region and that corresponds to a dorsal region of the animal when the belt-shaped body is worn； a second region extending between another side edge in the lengthwise direction and the center region； a first engagement section that is disposed on the torso-facing surface of the first region； a second engagement section that is disposed on the non-torso-facing surface of the second region； and a gripping part that has a length in the lengthwise direction such as to allow gripping between the one side edge and the first engagement section.
